I said I'd be mature. I said I'd just feel thankful for what good fortune I'd had. That was all talk.
I kept hearing of this so called "four month regression" where even the best sleepers stop being that. I intended to outfox the system by not saying her age out loud this month until she hit five months. But, with spring break, her first bad cold, starting to sleep in the crib instead of the magical rock n play, realizing she's getting a little old for the swaddle...and actually turning four months...now she wakes up A LOT, more than she EVER did, even when she was just days old. Hoping it's a short phase, but that's a lot of change all at once I just listed.
At four months she cries less, smiles more, laughs a lot and has started playing baby games like talking on cue (for Owen especially) and dropping things over and over. She eats about 4 ounces every TWO hours, doesn't leave a lot of in between time to get much done, but when she slept through the night it seemed fair. Now, not so much. She's 13 pounds 8 ounces and her head recently jumped into the 90th percentile size-wise similar to her brothers before her. She continued to sleep from 7pm-7am up until the day before she officially turned 4 months. And she just tried, and seemed amenable to, her first "solids" of oatmeal cereal. YAY! She still spits up a storm (almost exclusively on me and her, thankfully) so you won't find so many self portraits of me and Amelia in this post.
