Leaves

While Mike was working and Owen was napping, I raked leaves and Jacob jumped in the piles. Then we made all the funny faces we could think of. I just love it when he'll play along.

Halfway to 70

As someone at work told me -- today I'm halfway to 70. Jacob spent most of the day trying to convince me it was HIS birthday. He's pretty convincing for a two-year-old but his efforts were unsuccessful. This year's birthday was great, but I'm already looking ahead to how to appropriately celebrate the next one -- 11/11/11!!!

Halloween and other pictures

Mike, Jacob the orangutan/monkey, Owen the dinosaur, and I started our whirlwind Halloween weekend on Saturday visiting with Lyle the astronaut, then off to a neighborhood costume parade with Aunt Nancy, followed by a quick jaunt up to Long Island where we slept for about a minute then took the train to NYC to meet little Avery (she wasn't dressed up but she was planning to dress as a sunflower), met up with cousin Heath the golfer to go trick or treating, had dinner with Nana, Papa, Bubbie, Aunt Jaime, Uncle Jared and his sisters Amy & Rachel. Then back in the car for our adventure back home. Shew.

After a week of recovery...

Nana and Papa came to Maryland to visit so Mike and I could go out on the town and celebrate our sixth anniversary and my upcoming birthday. We had a great weekend with lots of activities but I'd say the best part was just being able to sleep past 7am -- I can't remember the last time that happened. We took lots of pictures documenting the past two weeks. I'll do my best to edit, but I'm not promising success.

New cousin Avery!

We spent a whirlwind 20 or so hours in New York Halloween weekend and got to visit Jacob & Owen's new cousin/our new niece, Avery Reese Sherman. She was born October 14 to David and Wendy. Welcome to the world, Avery!
