The DC Shermans have seen better days. I'm getting over a cold, Jacob managed to get a double-y bad version of my cold, and Mike decided to join the fray on Friday with a case of a 36-hour bug of some kind. So, instead of a picture of our family, the above picture is a lovely family photo Mike took early last year outside Jacob's daycare. Cute! Just makes you yearn for spring!
Speaking of daycare, rumor had it that in the toddler classes they have cots for each kid that are about 2 inches above the floor with no sides or constraints to keep the kids on. I just couldn't picture how they kept the kids (Jacob) from crawling onto each other's cots to play, or getting up at their leisure, or how they ever convinced them to go to sleep with such freedom at their fingertips. Fortunately for me and my curiosity on the matter, Mike had the opportunity to pick Jacob up early on Friday (right in the middle of naptime, perfect!) and I made him take a picture. I couldn't believe it - Jacob was actually asleep, on the cot! How do they do it?!

Had a busy and fun weekend but didn't document much of it in pictures. Jacob spent most of the weekend giving kisses to just about anyone who asked. He's got a pretty dramatic pucker these days as you can see in the above picture when I caught him prepping for one. 
Brushing teeth has become a favorite part of Jacob's routine even if he only has 7 of them. and still no molars. You'd never guess it watching him eat, though. He manages and enjoys eating just about everything we put in front of him (salmon and creamed cauliflower for dinner tonight!). Back to "school" and work tomorrow. Have a great week!

Mike is getting old...er; today he turned 420 months! Jacob and I helped get him through this milestone by singing Happy Birthday (quite a few times), making him a nice meal for dinner, and having strawberry shortcake for dessert (mainly just shortcake for me and Mike, though, as Jacob insisted on eating every strawberry in sight). At 420 months Mike has quite a vocabulary (he probably knows thousands of words!), is able to walk, run and drive a car, can match the energy of a very busy toddler, and has become quite handy around the house. Jacob and I are proud of all that he can do. We can't wait to see what accomplishments are ahead. Happy Birthday, Mike. We lurve you!
Didn't take too many pictures this weekend but Jacob has begun to enjoy the independence of sitting on his own little stool as well as a grown up chair while enjoying his O's at the table. His very favorite word remains "iiiiiiiiiiiiight" (for light) -- and there are a LOT of lights -- though he continues to expand his vocabulary everyday.
