Happy Easter

What a beautiful Easter day! Started the day with a 2.5 year old negotiating how much candy he would get to eat in one day, then dressed in our Easter best and had a little backyard egg hunt, then "dinner" at Aunt Nancy's with everybody including Memaw, then a BIG egg hunt there with some of the big kids, then a nap, then we dyed eggs, then Jacob discovered that dyeing them isn't as fun as cracking them together, smooshing them on the ground and crumbling the yolks (no egg salad for me), then dinner and bed. After all that I didn't even get one picture of the boys with Memaw. I'll get some from her and post them at a later date.

Owen's top teeth are still taking their sweet time coming in (except of course the random eye tooth that broke through a week ago, that one won the race) and hasn't quite been himself all week. He's been passing the time playing the "uh oh" game which he just Luuuuuuuuuuuuvs.

Nana & Papa visit

Nana and Papa came to visit for the weekend and it was so good to see them. Jacob watched Papa like a hawk making sure he was never out of sight, and Owen was too busy teething to notice Jacob hogging all of Papa's time. Fortunately, Nana was around to provide support during this trying time -- four top teeth at once!

At 10 months Owen is starting to understand the word "no", especially when accompanied by his first and middle name, he loves Jacob's toys, can clap his hands together, pulls up to standing, and still drags himself around everwhere.

Nothing too exciting to report from the weekend. I don't even remember what we did really (except of course calling Aunt Jaime on Saturday to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!). Thank goodness for pictures.

Hodgepodge

Hmmm, where to begin. I'm a little behind in updating, but some things from recent times include:

• Visit with Rachel (Mike's old college friend and now they live nearby), Nate, Sophia & Milo
• I finished a 5K race this weekend with Leslie! My first foray back into professional running since Owen. AND, we saw Becky and her sons Gavin & Graham cheering for us along the route. Becky just had her third baby!
• Owen finished at least a 5k dragging himself around the house - no crawling yet. But he's quite fast in his own way. He's into everything and really beginning to show a winning personality. He's also getting a new tooth, his third. So far it's a bit off center so pictures should be interesting in the near future.
• Lyle gave Jacob a pair of sunglasses that actually fit his head and "we" haven't stopped talking about it since.
• One night while we were taking requests for songs to dance to, Jacob insisted on playing "the lady song!" "the lady song!" Whaaa? So we asked him to sing it for us and he yells "All the single ladies, all the single ladies" over and over. The video below is a reenactment of that moment. It IS a catchy tune.
