Why must I take a bath?

Week 1

Had a nice first week with Owen with family and friends. Jacob held court "outside", went to his first swim lesson, kept close watch for the ice truck, and learned to push the spray on the water hose all by himself (lookout anyone within 20 feet or so). Owen has been sleeping and eating and stays awake a little longer every day -- and usually just during the day -- yay!

Breaking News!

Well, it's not exactly breaking news, but we had the baby!!! Owen Lawrence Sherman was born on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 9:15am. He's 7lbs 8oz and 20 inches long and he was a week overdue! At the first sign of impending delivery on Saturday night we headed to the hospital and were determined to stay there -- what a difference delivering at the hospital makes! We're back at home now. Jacob met his little brother with intrigue which soon turned to slight indifference. He calls him "bobby" -- which took me a while to figure out means "baby" -- but we'll be calling him Owen. Here are some pictures from the past week.

I think the title of this post says it all, at least from my perspective.

We took Jacob to the park to ride on the train there.

Jacob LOVES his collection of Thomas trains, books with choo choos, etc. so we were a little surprised to learn he had mixed feelings about actually riding on one. We'll give it another try in a few months.

Once we were back on our own footing he was off again with his little wiggle run.
